What is happening during an autogenic training? What does autogenic mean?

’Autogenic’ means ’self-operating’. You can learn how to harmonize your physical and spiritual sensations.

The essence of autogenic training (AT) is to create psychic and physical-psychological relaxation through regularly and repetitively done practices – inward concentration and self-centered, passive focus. In this relaxed state our mind can influence our body’s self-regulating systems which control circulation, heart rhythm and respiration. AT helps to ease down stress by teaching our nervous system to relax. This method is based on „passive concentration”, so it tries to achieve our goals not through active work, it does not want us to make a change by force, we just let feelings happen. This method helps you through these regular exercises to regulate your physical and mental functioning according to your own goals.

What kind of dependencies do you deal with?

We mainly deal with chemical dependencies (eg. alcohol, drugs, illegal drugs).

The community space is open from Tuesday to Thursday between 13 and 17 pm. Information about the programs are available on our website, facebook page and on flyers.

What does low-threshold service mean?

The low-threshold term refers to the fact, that the providers do not set high expectations for users, there are almost no requirements. In a special way, unlike other services, these programs reduce harms of substance use and behavioral problems, give psycho-social support and life-counseling advices free of charge and easy to access. By placing-out or mobilising the service, many people can access it and use it. There are no strict requirements, therapeutic contracts, abstinence or health insurance (TAJ card) are not requirements either, the user can ask for help even without giving out his/her name.

What does harm reduction mean?

Harm reduction is a summary name for practical interventions designed to mitigate health, social and economic problems on personal and macro level caused by drug use. Harm reduction programs contribute to preventing the spread of infectious diseases and the rise of crime and death. In many cases, low-threshold services may be the first step of treatment, the first contact to those drug users who are not treated yet. Harm reduction programs include services such as needle exchange programs, substitution treatments, monitored consumer rooms and party service (party attendance).
